Hello? Anybody home??
Man it’s been quiet around here.
Well, I’ve got a pretty good excuse - I swear. Other than being completely addicted to spending time with my one year old daughter and just being completely baffled at how quickly kids develop, I’ve been pretty all-consumed with getting through the rush phase of pre-production on Ice Age: Dawn [...]

An Open Letter to America
Bravo to you America for electing Barack Obama.I realize not everyone is happy with the choice but ask they take a chance in trying. Yes, I recognize that it all his speeches may be the rhetoric of a politician but if there's one thing that's been made clear, people need something to believe in. Some call it false hope, others call it blind allegiance, but many of those people believed enough in George Bush to re-elect him so they should be able to understand. If nothing else, I hope they realize Obama has done something no politician has for some time; inspire. As tough as it may be, you have to respect that in the man. If your candidate can, so can you.As for me... I'm cautiously optimistic. I don't agree with all his policies but he seems willing to listen to those who disagree. I don't believe he is the messiah and I don't believe all the wrongs in America will be righted but I voted for him anyway. If anything, I wanted someone who could motivate people to care, speak intelligently for us on the international stage and become a figurehead for what America should be. I was hopeful his mixed race or uncommon name wouldn't blind people to what I see and it appearantly hasn't.We made history America, thank you.

Now With Labels/Tags
I've decided to start tagging posts with content specifics labels. I should have done this sooner but every time I considered starting, I talked myself out of it because I didn't want to go back and tag all my previous posts. Since I've needed to send two different people to all the posts on Japan in the last week, it's become obvious how useful they are. I knew they were useful before, it's just that now the aggravation of finding posts outweighs the aggravation of tagging old ones.If you look below this, you can see a new section called Labels. If you click on one, you'll be given a list of all the posts that have the same tag so you can see related content. I think this will be especially helpful when you're (I'm) searching for an old post and find a related one that isn't the exact one I want. It won't be that useful right now, but new posts will get them and at some point (maybe during the holidays) I'll go back and tag the 250+ old ones.

The Future of Browsers
Long time, no post, eh? After writing so much in the past couple weeks, the last thing I've wanted to do is write more here. There are only 3 weeks left in the semester so I will probably be relatively quiet until December. I got my term paper on browsers back, so I've posted it here (sans comments) to keep you busy. I'm honest in admitting it's not as strong as it could be, but I think it's a decent look at the role browsers will play in the future. There were a lot of comments from the professor about areas of opportunity, but I got an A (24/25) and that's all that really matters. Read it, if you dare.

Jelly Thumbprints
So I was doing some Sudoku with Grandma, and we all thought it was probably cookie time. Dad was shouting, “Cookie Time!!” I think that might have been part of it.
Mom got the ball rolling by giving Dad something to do well away from the expensive machinery.
Then once the dough was ready…it was time to start the messy part.
They turned out pretty well.
Dad even let me have one.
Then, with my sugar high, I played with Garndma on the sofa:

Emma draws circles
November 17, 2008Our friend Parke had suggested coloring at the table because it makes it easier for them to color. Last week we gave it a try and they had so much fun. Emma colored for a couple of hours at the table. She started drawing circles, which we have been practicing for a while.
Landon colored for a little while, but when the Ants Go Marching song came on he had to get down and march around.

22 Months Old!
November 14, 2008My babies are 22 months old today. Emma is in all 12 month clothes. Landon is in 12 month pants and 18-24 month shirts. We got their feet measured last month and they both were a 41/2, so they said they should be wearing size 5. The 5's seem a little big on Emma, but it's hard to find 41/2 in the stores. They did pretty good with the time change recently. Emma has started waking up a little bit before 7am some days and I just let her talk in her crib until 7. They still take 2 naps a day, but if we have plans in the morning they do alright with just one nap. Emma could probably go to just one nap a day, but Landon still needs both I think. They have started getting into things more, but most of it is just little things. I came up from the basement one time and found Emma had moved a chair over to the counter, climbed up and started eating cheerios from a bowl that was on the counter. No more keeping our prescriptions on the counter.Emma plays for a little bit in her crib before she falls asleep. Sometimes she'll take off her clothes and throw them over the side. This morning when I looked at the monitor I saw baby bum, so I had to go up, put her diaper back on and put her in different pajamas.I think Emma gets into more than Landon does, but he likes to join her. The other day I found him sitting up here. They are both so much fun and I'm so lucky to be able to stay home with them. We'll be heading back to Massachusetts for Thanksgiving. We'll be staying at my parents house, so feel free to stop in and see the babies and meet Auntie Jen's fiance Adam (who we will be meeting for the first time). We will probably be around Wednesday afternoon till Sunday morning. Does anyone know of any good places to get pictures taken in the area? I was thinking we would get our holiday pictures done while we're back, since Pete's beard growing contest will be done by then.

Official OOP Iphone Case!
I hate to do this but let me brag about my new iphone case.
This is a birthday gift I recently received. Yes, you are right! It is a custom curved real wood cover! You can actually choose different kinds of woods.(this one is walnut)
I have not liked any iphone covers out there. Everything looked very similar and there hasn’t been ONE perfect looking case to my taste. But wow, this is the best one by far!
And it has Wootie engraved on the back of it!!!
-
This can be a potential OOP product if there’s enough interests!
wootieeeee…..
