Roy Disney, Superhero
May 9, 2005 - 3:41pmRoy's uncle should be so proud of him...he still hasn't given up on the family namesake. He forces them to be accountable at every turn, and makes sure that the public is aware of every misstep. I've never met him...but I think he's awesome.
Dissident shareholders and former board members Roy E. Disney and Stanley P. Gold filed suit against Walt Disney Co. (DIS) and certain members of its board Monday, alleging that the company and the board members made false statements to shareholders about the search for a new chief executive. The false statements were made, the two allege, in order to get shareholders to vote for the incumbent board at its 2005 shareholder meeting and to prevent Roy Disney and Gold from running an alternate slate of directors at that meeting. Disney and Gold are asking the court to void that 2005 election and to compel Disney to hold another vote for directors "after full and fair disclosure of all material facts about the CEO selection process." They also want the court to enjoin Disney and the board from changing either Michael Eisner's or Robert Iger's compensation or employment contracts. Eisner and Iger were among those named in the lawsuit. More...
Absolutely exhausted.
November 9, 2004 - 6:28pmI'm about as tired as I've felt in a long time. I guess that's what I get for working days and nights. The surprising this is that aside from fatigue, I feel about as well as I have in a long time. I guess maybe I crave the pressure of stacked deadlines. I certainly have had my share of them lately. Stacked like pancakes, one on top of another.
One of my latest projects went live today - an interactive Flash game based on the Growing Up Gotti? cable series. It's called "Guess the Gotti Gab". I've only watched a couple of episodes myself, but the premise is that the three sons of Victoria Gotti are pretty hard to understand (if you've watched the show, you'll know that half of the time they are subtitled). So in the game, you have to figure out what they've said based on sound clips, and you have to do it before the timer runs out. The concept isn't mine, but I did do all the design and coding, for better or worse. Its kind of fun, or at least funny, considering...if you try it out, let me know how it goes.
