Lomba's fish and chips get 3 thumbs up!
January 5, 2008The Friday after Christmas Pete I went out to try and do some birthday shopping for the babies. While we were out we decided to stop by Kevin's store since they do fish and chips every Friday. Kevin and his brother opened a deli/convenient store, here's an article about the deli opening. It's not very clear, I'll have Pete make it clearer later. We brought the fish and chips home and Pete shared them with the babies. They had never tried fish before, so they hesitated at first. They both ate a little bit, but then decided to eat the french fries instead. Pete said it was as good as Turk's in Mattapoisett and that is a big complement coming from him.Emma was happy when Gramps left her alone with the plate of food. She even tried the lemon and made the funniest face.
Then we had Landon try the lemon and he ended up liking it.
They were excited to play with all the toys they got for Christmas.Landon washing his hands in the toy sink.Playing with Grammy.

Christmas night
January 3, 2008On Christmas night we went over to Auntie Suzie's house to visit with daddy's family. Landon immediately made himself at home and started helping everyone open their gifts. He also opened some for him and Emma.He helped me open gifts since one of my hands was full of Emma. She decided to hide out for the first part of the night. That is Landon's bum sticking out of the bag. Such a good helper.
Emma snuggled up to Uncle Jeff for a little bit.Landon had some cookies with Grandpa.Emma finally started getting used to everyone and started coloring.
Auntie Suzie has a fish tank and they loved watching all the fish.

Christmas Eve
January 1, 2009On Christmas Eve we went over to Great Grandma and Grandpa's farm to celebrate Christmas with everyone. The babies had fun running all over the house, eating all the good food and seeing everyone.Landon tried the punch and really liked it. This is the first time he had soda. They also got to visit with daddy's Aunts and Uncles that we don't get to see very often. It was getting late when we left, but we decided to stop by my cousins house before we went home. I'm so glad we did because all the kids were so happy to see the babies. They immediately helped them open presents. Then chased them around the house.
Emma got nervous when my cousin Peter came in the room and jumped into Lilly's arms. So cute. They had so much fun playing with all the kids.
We tried to get a group picture of all of them, but it was already 10pm and Emma was so sleepy. I don't think they've ever stayed up that late, but they had so much fun.

Merry Christmas!!
December 29, 2008Christmas morning was so much fun this year. The babies seemed to understand more of what was going on and had a blast. When they woke up, Landon went right for the presents and Emma dove into the ball pit Santa had left for them.Landon was so happy to see the ball pit that he went around and hugged every side. Then Landon noticed his stocking. Then Emma found her stocking.
Landon must have know this one was a drum set because he ran over and wanted to unwrap it as soon as he got in the room.
They would take presents from under the tree and we would say who they were for. They would bring them over and help that person unwrap it.It looks like Landon was unwrapping really fast in this picture.Auntie Jen had sent some gifts for us too. Thanks Auntie!!They love this dancing elephant.
Emma loves her camera. If you listen you can hear her say cheese.
They had so much fun on Christmas morning!!!

Snow gets mixed reviews!
December 20, 2008Yesterday we got a big snow storm and the babies were so excited to watch it snowing from the window when they got up from their nap.
Today we got ready to go out and play in all the new snow. Landon was excited to go outside and didn't really mind being bundled up.Emma wasn't happy to be bundled up.As soon as they got out in the snow Landon started to cry. It was hard for them to walk because there is so much snow.
They took shelter in their playhouse. Not much snow had gotten in.
We tried pulling Landon on the sled and tub, but he was just not happy to be outside in the snow. Daddy took him inside to warm up. Emma and I stayed outside and played for a little while longer. I need to find better mittens for both of them. They kept falling off. Does anyone have a trick to keeping them on.

Painting
December 19, 2008In Emma's Christmas gift bag from James he gave her these paintbrushes. We tried them out last weekend. They only paint on certain paper and it takes a second to show up when you draw something. It took them a little bit to get used to that, since they are used to using crayons.
Landon never colors as long as Emma. Emma would color all day if she could.
They had a lot of fun with their new paintbrushes. Thanks James!

Talking

She calls coloring circle and she loves to color.
Landon says cookie.
They can both say banana. Landon says happy day, for happy birthday.
They can both say apple.
They can both say keys.

Santa visits!
December 17, 2008Every year Santa comes by our house on a firetruck and hands out candy canes to all the kids. When we moved in two years ago it just happened to be our first weekend sleeping in our new house. We thought something was wrong in the neighborhood because the sirens just kept getting louder and louder.Last Sunday we got all bundled up and waited for Santa outside.
He was further away than we thought, so we ended up playing in the backyard for a little bit.I don't know what they thought of Santa. Their expressions didn't change at all when he got out of the firetruck and handed them some candy canes.

Emma's 13th & 14th Teeth
December 16, 2008A few weeks ago I noticed that another one of Emma's bottom teeth had come in. Last night I noticed that another top tooth had come in. I can kind of feel the other two teeth trying to come through, so I'm sure it won't be long now.

23 Months Old!
December 14, 2008My babies are 23 months old today. Emma is in 12 month and some 18 month clothes. Landon is in 12-18 month pants and 18-24 month shirts.I can't believe how fast time goes when you have kids. In one month my babies will be 2 years old! I feel like we've done our best to enjoy every second with them, but it still goes by so fast. They play together a lot more now and I love watching them. They are getting better at learning to share with each other. Lately I've noticed that if either one of them has two of something (drink/toy) they will bring one over to the other one. They both woke up from their nap on Friday with a runny nose and cough. I don't think they have ever gotten a cold at the same time before. Usually one will get it and pass it to the other. Friday night we had both of them in bed with us at one point because they didn't feel well. That didn't work out very well. We'll need a bigger bed if they keep getting sick together. Here's a cute video of them playing together.

Christmas Party
December 12, 2008Wednesday we had a Christmas Party with our friends Katie, Meghan, James, Dylan, Autumn, Taryn and Eric. They had a lot of treats. The kids had all picked a name of another kid to buy a present for since the group is getting so big. It worked out great. Here's James bringing Emma her bag of presents.Which she couldn't wait to open. Christmas is going to be fun this year.
Here's Landon opening his present from Katie. Katie used some heavy duty rapping paper, so he needed a little help. Then they all had fun playing with their new toys.Landon liked Meghan's drum set the best.
Emma liked Landon's Aquadoodle the best.
She didn't want to stop drawing on it when we got home. She calls it circle, because I always ask her if she can draw a circle. I put it away when she went to brush her teeth and when she came back out she pointed to the floor and said circle.
Everytime we play with Katie and Meghan Emma always gives them hugs before we leave. I finally got it on video. It's the cutest thing.
They had such a good time playing with all their friends.

Winter Lunches
December 11, 2008It's way to cold in the winter to play outside at the park. We usually meet daddy 1-2 times a week for lunch. We have lunch at the mall and then let the babies play around the fountains. Daddy had showed them how to throw change in and make a wish. Now they pick up imaginary change off the ground and pretend to throw it into the fountain. They have so much fun.
Landon likes to window shop.

December 9, 2008Grammy and Gramps came to visit us for the weekend. Landon started saying Grammy, which made Grammy's weekend. As usual they had breakfast with Gramps.Landon tried Grammy's tangerine and liked it.Emma learned to say knife because Gramps had one on his shirt. She could already say fork.
Here's some videos of Emma talking on the phone.
Grammy put Emma's hair in pigtails.Landon wanted his hair brushed too.We all got bundled up to go outside and supervise as daddy and Gramps put up the Christmas lights. They helped Gramps fill the bird feeder. We played outback for a little bit, but it was so cold. After dinner we all got bundled up again to go out and see all the lights. They had so much fun looking at all the lights. Thanks daddy and Gramps. You did a great job.

Visiting Santa!
December 5, 2008Earlier this week we visited daddy for lunch and he had the very smart idea of letting them hold their crayons while they sat with Santa. Landon did so good, but as you can see Emma wasn't very happy.Last month we went to the mall to see Santa and it didn't go so well. Our friends the Thurmeier's just happened to be there at the same time, so they snapped some pictures for us. We figured we would try to see Santa another time.Just minutes before seeing Santa Emma was so happy to see her friends Katie and Meghan.

La Salette
December 4, 2008Saturday night we went to La Salette to see all the Christmas lights. I couldn't decide if we should go or not. I didn't know if the babies would like it or if it would be to cold out for them. We picked up some huge mittens at Bennny's and decided to give it a try. At first Emma was upset because she couldn't touch everything because of the mittens. Then we went on this merry-go-round and after that she seemed to start enjoying herself even though she had the mittens on.
Landon was bit cranky at first and wanted to be carried, but then everyone started marching with him and he started to have so much fun.
Grammy and Gramps joined usand our friend Lisa joined us.They had so much fun walking around looking at lights.Emma loved looking in this room with moving people showing how to make wool.At the end there was a row of trees decorated with lights and they had to stop and look at every light.I'm so glad we ended up going. They had so much fun looking at all the lights. It's so amazing to watch them as they discover new things. I think we might try Edaville Railroad when we go back for Christmas. Does anyone know of any light displays in New York?

Christmas Parade
December 4, 2008Saturday afternoon we went to the Middleboro Christmas Parade. I'm not quite sure what the babies thought of it, but they watched the entire thing. I didn't bring mittens for them because I didn't think we would be outside this much. Grammy let Emma wear hers. Landon's jacket covered his hands.
Pete took this picture because he says Emma and I always make the same faces. It was very cold outside, so we figured it was the perfect time for the babies to try hot chocolate. Emma tried a sip but didn't care for it.Landon loves drinking from a cup,but as soon as he took a sip he spit it right back out.He didn't care for hot chocolate either.

Visiting the farm
December 3, 2008Saturday we went and visited Great Grandma and Grandpa on the farm. We were lucky enough to be there while Great Grandma was giving riding lessons and we got to watch. The babies loved watching all the horses.
They ran around the farm chasing all the cats and looking at the dogs, pony and horses. Grandpa Ralph and Cindy met us there. We went inside to warm up and have some lunch. One of Great Grandma's friends had brought this horse over for the babies and Landon loves riding it. We have one at home that Great Grandma got for them last year, so now they both have their own.
They have a bunch of little puppies and they loved watching them come in and out of the house. They had so much fun running around and watching all the animals.

Visitors
December 2, 2008On Friday we decided to hang out at Grammy and Gramps for the day and have people stop in and visit us. This worked out so good because Grammy and Gramps' house has toys and is childproofed, so we don't have to follow them around everywhere.Auntie Jen's friend Jessie stopped by in the morning with her daughter Page. They had a lot of fun playing with Page.Grandpa Ralph stopped in and spent the entire day with all of us.Big Jay stopped in with Mackenzie. She is getting so big and smiling so much. She had fun watching Emma and Landon play.Grammy and Gramps friend Ruth stopped in to visit with us and Landon kept smiling at her from across the room.Grammy and Gramps friend Mavis stopped in to visit with us.Auntie Suzie stopped in to visit with us for a while.Emma loved playing with her camera. Then Auntie Suzie's boyfriend Ben stopped in to visit with us. Emma was shy at first, but then Ben started to juggle her balls and she thought that was the coolest thing. That night Grammy Rose and Uncle Matt stopped over to visit with us again.Uncle Matt was playing daddy's PSP and Emma loved watching him play.
