According to recent survey results, University students should proud of their Clemson education. The findings, from the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), showed that those surveyed feel Clemson provides a level of education superior to that of its fellow institutions.

Freshman visitation policy rethought
It's 2 a.m. in Clemson, and a steady stream of students are making the trek back to their respective dorms.
Visiting hours, an annoyance for many freshmen, are over.
However, these students may soon find themselves with some extra time thanks to the efforts of some Student Government Senate members.

Festival held to save organic farm
With recent cuts to Clemson's budget and the expiration of their state funded grant, the Students for Environmental Awareness (SEA) will hold their first Farm Aid Festival to raise money to save Clemson's Student Organic Farm. It costs approximately $75,000 a year to run the farm, most of which was funded by USDA grants.

Eleventh sorority added to Greek order
Panhellenic Council voted Wednesday night to bring an 11th sorority, Sigma Kappa, to Clemson. The final decision was narrowed down to Sigma Kappa, Alpha Phi and Pi Beta Phi. Recruitment for Sigma Kappa will begin with an informal session in the spring. Formal recruitment will take place in Fall 2009 with the other 10 sororities.

Hands-on research broadens horizons
Creative inquiry classes at Clemson are providing students with research experience through an in-depth, hands-on approach to learning. As Clemson continues moving toward its Top 20 goal, creative inquiry projects allow students to step outside of the usual classroom setting and conduct research of their own.

Cross Country finishes strong
Both Clemson's cross country seasons came to an end last weekend in Clemmons, N.C., where each ran in the NCAA Southeast Region Championship at Tanglewood Park. Each had a solid outing, as both programs came away with 10th place team finishes. The women's strength behind their finish lied within their front-runner strategy, as they were yet again led by sophomore standout Jenna Baker who came away with the highest honor between both teams.

Tigers "Spill" over Duke
Many Clemson fans were reminded of what a blowout looks like after Clemson (5-5, 3-4 in the ACC) thumped Duke (4-6, 1-5 in the ACC) 31-7 on Saturday. The Tiger defense held Duke to just 168 yards of total offense. Quarterback Cullen Harper played a turnover free game for the first time in seven games.

Clemson at Virginia
The Tigers had a huge success last week with an impressive win against the Duke University Blue Devils at Death Valley. The Tigers (5-5, 3-4 ACC) were able to dominate much of the game and pull away with a 31-7 victory. The victory brought some relief to Clemson fans after the Tigers appeared to have turned the corner against Boston College two weeks ago but then stumbled when they played Florida State the following week.

Lady Tigers fall to Furman, rebound against PC
The Clemson Lady Tigers basketball team opened their 2008-2009 season against Furman University last Friday in Greenville. Going into this season, the program returned nine letterwinners and has six newcomers to the team. Clemson fell to the Lady Paladins, 82-68 last week in Furman's Timmons Arena.

Once upon a time there existed a northern territory called Canada. In this territory nothing much happened, and nobody did anything of significance. Canada had only two chief exports.
